Born in Siena in 1953, Donatella graduated in History of Medieval Art. In 1993 she founded the “Wine tourism movement” and invented Wine Day, the event that in a very short time brought success to Italian wine tourism. Today she teaches in master courses.In 1998, she left the family estate to create her own, made up of Fattoria del Colle in Trequanda – with a country inn, a restaurant and the production of the Chianti wine and wellness centre – and Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino where the Brunello is made, in a winery that is the first in Italy to be staffed only by women.In 2003 Donatella won the "Oscar" for Best Italian wine producer, a prize awarded by the Italian Association of Sommelier-Bibenda, and she published the Manuale del turismo del vino (a handbook for producers on how to organize, and successfully open their wineries to the public). In 2007 Donatella Cinelli Colombini publishes Marketing del turismo del vino (a handbook on the marketing for wine tourism). From 2001 to 2011 she worked as tourist advisor for the city of Siena. Among her projects was "Urban trekking," a new type of sports tourism. At present she is Vice President of the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino. In 2012 she was awarded the “Premio Internazionale Vinitaly”.
In 2014 she was appointed Chevalier of the Italian Republic in 2015 Capitol she received the Minerva Award.
Last but very important, the position of National President of the Wine Women 2016-2019.
Born in Montalcino in 1984 Violante took a degree in Economics at the University of Florence. After her OIV degreein Wine Management which took her around the world visiting the most famous wine regions, and taking courses in some of the most famous wine universities around the world, she is now working in marketing her mother Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s wines as brand export manager. Even before her degree Violante was running the country inn at Fattoria del Colle and leading the “Toscana Lovers” shop that sells handicraft objects in the centre of Siena. Violante is member of the Leo Club Valli Senesi and has been President of the Distretto Leo 108 La Toscana for the year 2009, she is at present Vice President of the Strada del Vino Orcia.
She is currently president of the Tourism Movement Tuscany Wine.
